Community Guidelines
RYDA Mobility (Private) Limited, Harare, Zimbabwe. Registered in Zimbabwe, entity number 132243A0282026.
Last updated 2 September 2026.
These are the rules for everyone who uses RYDA, whether you are riding or driving. They describe what the app actually does, not what we hope to do one day.
What we expect from everyone
- Treat the other person with respect. Abuse, threats, harassment and discrimination of any kind are not allowed, and that includes discrimination on race, tribe, sex, religion, disability or where somebody is going.
- Nobody has to continue a trip that feels unsafe. A rider may ask to get out and a driver may end the trip.
- No weapons and no illegal items. No smoking in the car.
- A driver may refuse to carry more passengers than the car has seat belts for.
If you are riding
- Check the number plate before you get in. It is on your screen, and it is the thing to match, not the colour of the car.
- Wear a seat belt, in the back as well as the front.
- Your PIN is yours. Give it to the driver only once you are in the right car.
- Look after the vehicle. You are responsible for damage or for cleaning you cause.
- Cancel as early as you can. A late cancellation may carry a fee, which is set out in the Terms of Service.
If you are driving
- Your licence, insurance, registration and vehicle documents must be current. RYDA will not let you go online without them.
- Drive the car that is on your account, with the plate the rider is shown. Do not send somebody else.
- The fare is the fare. Never ask for extra cash, and never ask a rider to cancel and pay outside the app.
- Do not start a trip without the rider's PIN. It is what proves the right person is in your car.
- Follow the road rules and take a sensible route. A rider can see where you are going.
The safety tools you already have
- SOS on every trip screen, for both sides, which raises an alert an operator can see.
- Share your trip so somebody you choose can follow it.
- In app chat that never shows either phone number, and is deleted when the trip ends.
- An emergency contact you can set in the app.
- Block somebody after a trip. You will not be matched with them again, in either direction.
Reporting somebody
You can report a trip afterwards from your trip history. A person at RYDA reads reports, and accounts can be suspended or removed for breaking these guidelines.
We are a small team and we do not have somebody available at every hour, so we cannot promise how quickly you will hear back. If you are in immediate danger, contact the police first and use SOS. Do not wait for us.
If there is an accident
Stop, check that everyone is safe, and call emergency services before anything else. Then raise SOS in the app so RYDA knows. Your trip details, including where you were, are already recorded.
Changes
We will update this page as the product changes. It is meant to describe what RYDA really does, so if you find something here that the app does not do, tell us and we will correct it.
